Fun in the Studio

Ok, that studio is a fun little place to play! Look at how much fun Logan had today! He was so into this practice shoot and he just loves his Gap hat... made for a wonderful afternoon in the natural light set up. You can see Lauryn here too, dealing with the annoyances of her mom and this camera. Poor kid!

Absolute Model Looks

If anyone in the world could be a model, this little girl could be! And so could her brother... and so could her sister. Pretty sure if I was a talent scout, I'd be inviting them all to work immediately! But what's more, they're amazing little kids and so funny and charming and special. This was our first "studio" shoot in Caryn's new home studio using natural light and 10 million distractions. What a morning!

I love overcast days (and great hats!)

Here is one of my favorite shoots of the holiday season. Mostly because of these little guys' cool hats, some because of the awesome overcast skies, and a lot because they were SO so cute!

The bigger guy had a big fall just before the shoot so you can see his red goose egg under his hat (OUCH!) but look at how much fun he seemed to be having getting his pictures taken! Thanks guys for making this a fun day!

Beautiful Family

Are these not the most pretty kids ever? I didn't mean to shoot in their parents' bedroom that day but I walked into this most amazing light combined with that gorgeous bedding and I just could not resist! We did eventually get out and shoot some outdoors with the fall colors but these were my favorites of the day. Something about the rich tones and shadows that natural light was casting on these guys. No one cared really if they were smiling or looking dead serious... They just kept looking this cute!

Congratulations, Angela!

So I just found out a fellow photographer's (http://www.jessicasvisions.com/ and http://jvphoto.blogspot.com/) sister is getting married at the gorgeous Vizcaya in downtown Sacramento! Well, lucky us, we got a few pictures of this cute couple when they were "just dating." Congratulations, Angela! Double congratulations ;) !

Welcome Raymond, One Month Old

Raymond is here! We loved getting his mom's maternity portraits and this I have to say may have been even more fun. He is absolutely gorgeous; I guess it helps having super good looking parents! Nothing like having a leg up in life, right? Here are a few of his newborn shots. He's one month today ~ happy birthday Ray!

Another Jaden Appearance

So I finished up my blog post yesterday congratulating little Jaden on her appearance in Parents Magazine and opened up my Pottery Barn Kids catalog to see two pictures of her there. Girl, you're one busy model! We're proud of you!

Corinne Takes "Miss Photogenic"

Big congratulations goes out to one of our most beautiful clients, Corinne, as she took the prize for most photogenic at her first ever pageant in Northern California! She was SO much fun to shoot since seriously, we didn't have to do a thing but snap away! We love these kinds of shoots where it just happens naturally and no matter what's going on, they just look amazing! Congratulations girl, we're proud of you!

Jaden is famous!

Well we had the awesome priviledge of shooting Jaden and her brother Jake for a cover shoot back in the summer of 2006 for Foothills and Folsom Family Values magazines. Jaden's been busy modeling for some time so she's an old hat at this (at 3 years old!) but it was a first for me, working with a pro. I get a little magazine each month called Parents and who was in the ol' mag' but little Jaden and big brother Jake!! I didn't take the picture or have a darn thing to do with anything but it felt so cool to see their little faces right there on the pages of a big time publication! Here is Jaden, as we shot her in the summer:

Big Sister and Her Quadruplets

So I guess we're on to something really amazing. We just met this amazing family with 5 children, all in diapers! You got it, 5 kids, 2 years old and younger. Four of them are just 5.5 months old - quadruplets! I'm an identical twin so in my childhood years while participating in Twins Club Int'l, I met my share of multiples but it still amazes me every time I meet more of them! I'm drawn to the individuality between babies born at the same time and this group was no exception. Three girls and one boy. What a group! And the real joy was to watch their older (barely older at only 2 years old!) sister interact with them. You'll see what I mean when you see this image:



Could that be any more precious?! And we managed to capture one image of all 4 of these miracle human beings looking right at me at the same time. What a moment behind the camera that was!



And now here's big sis, shining her lil' 2 year old smile for the camera. Who says 2 year olds don't sit still? Ok, well this one one of many hundred shots, but she's working it! Thanks little guys for the fun photo shoot! Let's do this again soon!

Totally Individual Triplets

That's right. They're triplets. Totally different and unique and an amazingly individual threesome. These miracles are just over a year old and they were a joy to follow around a campsite to capture they're little smiles (and tears!). This wasn't a photoshoot by any means. It was a weekend with wonderful friends. But who could pass up the opportunity to freeze those personalities forever?
